Hi and welcome to How to do Email Newsletters.
My name is Karen Skidmore and I created this resource for self-employed professionals and home business owners who wanted to create and publish an email newsletter to help attract more clients, but have no idea on how to get started.
After 11 years in corporate life, I first started working for myself in September 2004. I wanted to develop a new career and create a flexible business that would work around my two children, now aged 6 and 8.
Why did I start up this site?
Email newsletters were a tool I began using in my first business, CanDoCanBe. I noticed that many other coaches, consultants and trainers where beginning to embrace this marketing tool and I decided to jump on the bandwagon!
And boy, what a bandwagon it turned out to be. So much choice and so much technology - it really felt quite overwhelming.
But I stuck with it and within 9 months I realised that the email newsletter I was developing was fast becoming the marketing back-bone to my business. 4 years on and my email newsletters make promoting events and marketing products simple and (dare I write this!) incredibly fun.
